Part 4
In 2013 we received support from the Higher Education Academy to produce a pocket book and video on the topic of the crit. We interviewed art staff, students, and industry professionals from around the UK about the purpose of the crit, different crit formats, barriers that people can face to participating confidently, plus tips on overcoming these barriers, interpreting art, and public speaking.
Art Crits: 20 Questions – A Pocket Guide (above) includes the full interview topics laid out by theme. Art Crits: 20 Questions – The Video (left) is an artist’s video put together by graduate and presenter at one of our crits, Giles Bunch. *Subtitles coming soon. Both the video and the book aim to prompt questions, discussion, inspiration, invention and above all confidence amongst participants and facilitators alike when approaching the crit.

Library, Course & Retail Orders
We supply UK libraries directly with electronic and hardcopy versions of our books through recognised library suppliers. For retailers we distribute our own titles. We can offer large-order discounts.
Supporting new Q-Art titles
From 2015 we will work with 2 or 3 institutions per year to produce a book and hold related symposia. If you work at an art school, museum, gallery, or funding council and are interested in supporting a future Q-Art publication or hosting a symposium then please get in touch with [email protected] . All proceeds from the sale of Q-Art publications are reinvested into the organisation.
