Q-Art Crit at SHAPE Gallery Westfield Stratford
We were really pleased to be invited back to the wonderful SHAPE Gallery’s new space, a few doors down from the old one in The Street, Westfield. The space is an oasis in the vast consumer cathedral that is Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford. Four presenters, Amy Louise Nettleton, Linda Cunningham, Tony Fisher and Fred Vernon, discussed about their work and the whole session was BSL signed by two fabulous interpretors. It was a really thought-provoking evening with discussions around whether work by disabled people should be or needs to be labelled as such. The artists showing work today certainly demonstrated that their work stands on it’s own.
The event was live streamed and watched by over 50 people.

And finally, here is some feedback from Isabella, exhibitions intern at Shape:
“Sending A Huge Thank you to you and Sarah, I feel that the crit was a huge success and that’s all down to you and the artists, so thank you so much for being a part of it! We’ve had a fantastic response to the streaming and had 50 live views and the total count for views has now gone up to 90. So really chuffed!! Lets definitely do this again!”
